Mission and Objectives of the ECSDC

The ECSDC which is established to address the just mentioned difficulties has designed the following mission:
To work for the success, common welfare and well being of the African immigrant community residing in the District of Columbia and to instill in them the American ideals in order that they would undergo a smooth transitional process and attain a self-sustainable status in their new country focusing in particular on removing barriers to self-sufficiency.
Objectives are:

a) Assessing the needs and pressing issues affecting immigrants and connecting them with educational, legal, health and social services through appropriate referral and counseling.
b) Helping members of the immigrant community to develop their potential in order to enable them lead a settled life and integrate with and adapt to the American society;

c) Encouraging members and organizations to provide voluntary support for the purpose of furthering the mission of ECSDC. d) Initiating social and economic development projects that create employment opportunities for the immigrant community and make its different programs sustainable
