Aims and Objectives:
Assist clients to integrate and adapt to the American society through the provision of various services;
Assist
clients to access government and community services and programs
through the provision of orientation and information;
Facilitate and assist clients through interpretation, translation and documentation services;
To promote, protect and enhance the interests of the immigrant community;
To
initiate social and economic development projects that establishes
more employment opportunities in the immigrant community;
To
encourage members and organizations to undertake or provide
voluntary support for the purpose of furthering the mission of ECSDC;
To establish a managing body/executive committee, Board of Directors, an advisory group, and various committees;
To establish a committee to manage the ECSDC web site, update and provide to the minute news and current events;
To raise awareness of the needs and pressing issues affecting the immigrant community in the District of Columbia;
To undertake educational programs that assist in the development of members of the immigrant community;
To
provide mentoring to students from immigrant community, assisting
them with job placement, referrals and general support.
